SERVICES FOR RESIDENTS
The residents of the commune use a wide range of services. Most of them are provided by the Public Utility Company – an organizational unit of the Commune which has been operating since 1991.
One of main responsibilities of the Public Utility Company is to operate a suburban line providing bus connections between the towns and villages of the Kleszczewo commune and Poznań.
The suburban line buses make it easier for the commune residents to get to school, work, cultural institutions etc. The commune’s own transport is an instrument of social policy of the commune – free tickets for children and students of communal schools as well as for people above 60 provide easier access to institutions and services necessary in everyday life.
An extremely important task carried out by the local authorities by means of the Public Utility Company is to provide water to and collect sewage from the commune’s households. The company currently operates four water supply stations, a sewage treatment plant and several dozen kilometers of water supply and sewage pipelines. Although the commune is covered by the water supply system in 100%, new pipelines are still built which supply water to new areas and improve the security of water supply. Also, the sanitary sewage system is systematically developed. The commune is currently carrying out a project which aims at providing a complex solution to the problems of sewage management.
A list of tasks carried out by the Public Utility Company is much longer. Renovation of public buildings, managing roads and green areas, maintenance works are only part of the whole list of projects carried out by this company.
